Project Drawdown has partnered with the NorthWest Earth Institute to offer this great on-line vehicle for engagement which will run again this April 3-April 24. The NWEI offers resources and opportunities in a fun & social framework and their Eco Challenge was designed specifically to engage "behaviour change for sustainability" (see link: https://ecochallenge.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Behavior-Change-for-Sustainability_NWEI.pdf

A message from Project Drawdown director Paul Hawken:
"All of life is comprised of self-organizing systems and the Drawdown Eco Challenge is exactly that - people coming together to share, learn, support, imagine, and innovate for a better world. We are honoured to be part of this significant and brilliant initiative."

Mondays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 and May 20/29 TBD
First Nations House, 563 Spadina Ave., 3rd floor, Toronto

Cost according to your means: suggested donation $160 for 5 sessions.
Students and low income, $80 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
The course is an opportunity to come together with others on a journey to radically shift your relationship to global warming: to become better informed, inspired, empowered -- and to choose the solution you want to focus on - into action.

An important aspect of the series is building community among participants, sharing experiences and collaborating on ideas and opportunities for action.

This 5 session workshop is fun, fully engaging in many ways and gets you as deeply into the drawdown material as you want to go. The sessions will deepen your knowledge of Drawdown solutions and strategies through videos, presentations, individual research, and group interaction. It is also an opportunity to explore the aspects of the Drawdown project that speak to you , where you would like to develop further your skills and knowledge in partnership with like-minded individuals.

On February 13, 2019 OCIC members, International Development professionals and students gathered to learn about Project Drawdown’s global warming solutions relating to women and girls and to contextualize this model vis-a-vis the sector’s programs, policy, funding and public engagement efforts. Dr. Katharine Wilkinson, Senior V.P. of Communications & Engagement at Project Drawdown joined the conversation and answered questions remotely.
*Keep an eye out for news on the postponed Drawdown Toronto Summit on Climate Action and Gender Equality.
